ultiply.com - Arts Lecture-demo slated in UP Cebu The Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Kontra – Gapi), resident ethnic dance and music ensemble of the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Arts and Letters (UPD CAL), will hold a lecture-demonstration on ethnic dance and music on September 1, and 2, 2009 at the UP Visayas Cebu College Conference Hall, Library Building. UPD CAL Prof. Pedro R. Abraham Jr, founder of Kontra-Gapi, and Mr. Regimer Duka will be sharing their expertise and experience on ethnic dance and music in the lecture-workshop. The event is in line with the 20th anniversary celebration of the Kontra – Gapi dubbed as “20 x 10 hanggang 2010” where twenty (20) events, performances, lecture, workshops are given free for the public. - Voters’ Congress scheduled The YouthVote Philippines Cebu Chapter and the ABS-CBN Central Visayas will hold a (boto mo ipatrol mo) voters’ congress on August 31, 2009, 1:00 - 5:00 in the afternoon at the University of San Jose Recoletos Main Lobby, Cebu City. The event is a culmination of the various kapamilya congresses with the different sectors - youth, education, women, urban poor, workers. Organizers invited presidential and congress aspirants to join in the event.
